When Marlin was a young puppy, he would limp off and on with one of his rear legs for no apparent reason. Janis showed me a very simple stretching procedure to do with Marlin after our walks. I implemented the stretching and Marlin has never limped since then and he's nine years old! A few years back Marlin started going to Janis for monthly maintenance massages as we thought this would help him enter his "Golden Years". I have known Janis for many years and so admire her ability and willingness to help our canines live healthy lives. She graciously shares her knowledge and expertise with others.

Janis is wonderful, she has helped our Corgi named "Kirby" maintain his strength and flexibility. Her holistic approach was exactly what we wanted for Kirby, and he loves the personal attention, massages, and her love. He is not crazy about the water therapy because he is spooked by water, but it is very good for him.

Janis had unequivocally improved the quality of Mufasa's life. We started coming to Janis when he was 13 and had lost his mobility. Undoubtedly because of our regular sessions with Janis, she helped him live another active 5 years to the age of 18 with the gift of mobility. Now, that is priceless. Thank you Janis, for helping our boy all these years.

The greatest Joy in my life was when God blessed me with a beautiful daughter. We named her MitziPooh, and we loved her very much. It has been almost two years since she crossed over to the Rainbow Bridge where she is waiting to take me over when it is my time.
Janis was an incredible spirit that came along to help MitziPooh recover from spinal surgery, and she helped her by her love. Compassion, and her technique of physical therapy. MitziPooh would always go to sleep when Janis would do the energy work on her. We were blessed to know Janis and feel that God has put her on our path to help our baby girl to make her transition easier. We will always grateful for the work that Janis does, and feel blessed to know such a wonderful soul.
MitziPooh is still active in our lives spiritually and we feel her often. I would like to convey to other lovers of God’s creatures what they are telling us by telling you what my Baby girl tells me us of the time. This helps me deal with the loss one day at a time until we meet her at the Rainbow Bridge, and spend eternity together, Until we meet again!

At 10 years of age, 12 lb. Sumi was mauled by an 80 lbs. pit-mix. His jaws punctured her left shoulder and the right side of her neck. Her entire left chest was torn open and it literally flapped like a curtain in the breeze with each breath. She survived and mended, but clearly had neurological damage to her shoulder, neck and front legs. A few months after the attack her, in an attempt to jump up on a bed, she dislocated her left hip and had to have the ball and socket removed – her left leg has no skeletal connection to her hip. The x-ray showed that the other hip had severe arthritis.
Now at 14 years of age, Sumi continues her weekly PT sessions and no longer has her neck spasms. She instinctively loves the water, but since PT is my idea she grudgingly does her lapses giving “stink-eye” to Janis when she thinks it’s time to stop. She does an hour walk every day with beautiful conformation and always with more vigor and enthusiasm on her water-therapy day. How lucky were we to have this kind of care and expertise? VERY!

My 11-year old black lab mix Annie suffered a stroke and was left paralyzed. My once active 4-legged baby could only lay on her side, her eyes pleading for me to help her. Our vet, Dr. John Kaya, said her prognosis was mixed...some dogs gain mobility while others do not. Although our family and friends thought it was time to let her go, I wanted to give her a chance to heal, if indeed she could. Dr. Kaya recommended a regimen of Western medicines coupled with Eastern treatments that included acupuncture and physical therapy. We were referred to Janis Goto for Annie's physical therapy and our miracle trip began.
With Janis's magical touch and hydrotherapy sessions, Annie's recovery was remarkable. The first few weeks were tough, as I had to shift her body every few hours to prevent body sores and my husband and I transported her outside to use the bathroom. But I saw improvements which motivated me to continue her treatments. When she first lifted her head, I jumped for joy! It was a baby step, but I could see she was improving. She progressed to sitting up and shifting her body and within a month after her stroke, she was standing and moving her legs with help from my husband and I and the support of a harness. One day I was vacuuming around her and she leaped up and walked away from me, taking time to give me a dirty look for disturbing her rest...that was the first time she walked on her own and after that day, we pushed her harder and she improved rapidly.
With regular physical therapy and hydrotherapy treatments, Annie fully recovered from her stroke. We called her our "miracle dog" because so many people doubted that she'd ever walk again. She walked, and played, and enjoyed her life immensely. Annie was a survivor and her persistence and resiliency continue to amaze me today. Janis was the one person who believed in Annie as much as we did and we are forever grateful to her for treating Annie, and for genuinely caring about Annie and the two-legged parents who loved her. She gave us a very precious gift when she brought Annie back from the brink of death. Thank you Janis...for all that you did for Annie and for all of the other dogs who benefit from your healing hands and heart.
Aloha, Janet Covingto
We're grateful for what you continue to do for our Golden Retriever, Cooper, in his full recovery from ACL surgery - he's stronger, balanced and once again as active and playful as ever. But your gift of revitalizing touch was so evident on our elder Golden, Morgan, who would live episodes of puppyhood for a day or two after his spa day at Auntie Janis's - running in the grass, prancing about the house and talking with us. For Morgan, at nearly 15, his final months were made golden by your massage, moving energy and nutrients through his tired old body. Up until his passing in autumn you brought out the boy in Morgan, and all that extra comfort and feel good was a priceless, priceless gift for our family.
Thank you. Mike, Bill and John
Sammy is a young golden retriever/beagle mix who is undergoing chemotherapy treatments for lymphoma. Janis taught Sammy's mom Healing Touch to help him endure the treatments and to fight the cancer. He's doing well though his fight is far from over. Sammy's mom truly believes that it is because of Janis' Healing Touch techniques and her extensive knowledge of holistic treatments, that he has a fighting chance to beat the disease. We don't know where we'd be today or how to cope if it weren't for Janis - she has educated and empowered us!
Thank you
In 2009, we brought our dog Koa, who was suffering from heart, hip and limb problems, to Janis for her healing touches and aqua therapy. Koa made vast improvements within six months that her vet could not believe the results. Buoyed by such praises, we decided to continue Koa’s monthly maintenance therapy. Fast forward to December 2011 – by a freak event, Koa’s left thigh bone came out her hip socket. It was a very scary time for our family. Koa endured painful manipulations and surgery to correct the problem. Again we turned to Janis to help us heal Koa. It’s been five months since Koa’s surgery and with Janis’ therapies, Koa is doing fantastic. Koa will be turning 13 this year, and is still enjoying a full life. Janis, words cannot express the depth of our gratitude for saving and healing Koa. Koa is healthy, happy and spunky dog because of all the healing touches and therapies she received from you.
Thank you
Bruno was having back pains that were so severe, he would just stand and shake. Janis used all her therapy methods, but also gave me advice we indulgent dog owners don't want to hear, "Bruno is overweight---he needs to lose weight in order to be healthy". Through proper diet and exercise, Bruno lost 5 pounds (a LOT for a small dog). So now with occasional therapy and a healthy lifestyle, Bruno has been pain free for 2 years and is full of energy, especially for a 10 year old.
Thank you, Janis!
Akasha and Winston were well into their golden years and beginning to have hip problems when I brought them to Janis. I wanted their last years to be as full and rich as possible and Janis's amazing healing work - both on the massage table and in the pool - allowed them to have an active life all he way up to 15.
Janis consistently showed loving care to both our babies and was aware of and tended to their different needs, weaknesses and fears (Winston was afraid of the water and she was so gentle, yet firm, with him) We lost them both in the past two years but feel blessed to have found Janis who made such a difference in not only their lives but in mine as well since she was so helpful, supportive and kind during the times of their passing.
Thank you!
Janis has been a gift to all of my canine keiki’s for the many years we have been blessed to have her in our lives. Janis came highly recommended by our Veterinarian (who himself was voted the “Best Veterinarian” in the Star Advertiser’s poll). I believe with all my heart that life is not worth living unless you have the quality of life to really live it rather than just exist. Janis made that a reality for all my senior keiki’s because of her compassion, heart and connectivity with what she does. She gave all of my dogs so much relief from their various pains. The results were always such a comfort for me because I could see how much better my keiki’s were feeling after a session with Aunty. All I had to say is “let’s go visit Aunty Janis” and that was it – uncontrollable tail hula! That was all the confirmation I needed.
Thanks
Two years ago, four-year old Ellie Cocker Spaniel was diagnosed with life-threatening auto-immune hemolytic anemia. After two complete blood transfusions and a month of hospitalization on intravenous feeding, she'd lost a third of her body weight, was unable to stand without assistance, and could not walk at all. In addition to the condition for which she was hospitalized, X-rays revealed "the worst dysplasia" the vet had ever seen.
Once she'd regained some weight and strength we began weekly visits to Janis for massage and pool therapy. Ellie has never been a cuddly dog; she refuses to sit on a lap, and is not even willing to share half a chair with another. But she's thoroughly content to lie peacefully on the massage table while Janis works on her. And she paddles her little heart out with Janis in the pool. Under Janis' care, Ellie has done more than overcome her physical disabilities. Janis has helped her become a strong, healthy, happy, athletic dog. Look at Ellie now:
